How to Choose an Embroidery Machine for Your Small Business

FUJA |

Start with the work you expect to sell. Your first embroidery machine should fit your designs, order sizes and workspace. More needles or heads only help when they solve a problem in your normal orders.

Write down your first orders

Choose three products you plan to sell first, such as caps, polos and hoodies. For each one, record the design width, height, colors and usual order size. Bring the actual item and logo to your machine comparison.

A uniform shop repeating one logo has different needs from an online store selling names on single items. Compare the work you will do most often. Do not choose extra capacity only because you might need it later.

Build your FUJA shortlist

For US buyers, FJ 1001 and the 15 needle FJ 1501CS are the two US warehouse options. Other machines, including the 12 and 20 needle versions of FJ 1501CS, ship from China. Confirm stock for your chosen version before paying.

Compare design size with the usable sewing area for the actual hoop or cap attachment. Needle count shows how many thread colors can stay loaded. Head count affects how many items can run together. These are separate choices.

  • Check the largest design and the smallest item you plan to sew.
  • Ask for the exact included hoops, cap equipment and machine stand.
  • Check space for the machine, operator and garment.
  • Ask how you will prepare embroidery files and learn setup.

Compare the full order cost

FJ 1001 and the US stock 15 needle FJ 1501CS have free standard shipping to serviceable addresses in the lower 48 states. Before you pay, ask us to confirm delivery to your address and any extra fees for residential delivery, liftgate service, delivery inside or upstairs.

For a machine from China, contact FUJA for the DDP total before paying. The agreed price includes delivery to your door, customs clearance, duties and import taxes. Include every delivery service you need in that quote.

Use a demo to test your choice

Tell FUJA what you plan to make and ask for an online demo. A video meeting can help you check controls, garment access and the steps involved in your project. Ask whether your sample can be shown. Do not treat a different fabric or design as proof of your own result.

Questions Before You Buy

Is a 10 needle machine enough for my first shop?

It may be if your common designs and order sizes fit it. Check color changes and usable sewing area with your own work before choosing.

Should I buy more heads before I have repeat orders?

First check whether sewing time is already limiting your orders. Extra heads may not help when quoting, artwork or garment preparation causes the delay.
